Supermodel Adriana Lima sold her waterfront Estate in Indian Creek Island, Florida for $40 million, more than a decade after acquiring the home for just $9 million.
Property records show a trust that is linked to Lima sold the nearly 2-acre property at 22 Indian Creek Island Road. Both buyer and seller tried to hide their identity, records indicate. The seller is managed by trustee Gordon Weiss, owner of the CPA firm Weiss & Weiss. The buyer is a British Virgin Islands company called Melep International Ltd. The true identity of the buyer is unknown.
The Trust tied to Lima, a Brazilian model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel, paid $9 million for the 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home in 2009, records show. The house, spanning 6,465 square feet, was built in 1958 and could be torn down. Records show Lima had an interior remodeling of the home completed in 2020.
Forbes has included Lima in its rankings of highest-paid models, including in 2017.
Lima isn’t the only supermodel to live in the exclusive, guard-gated Indian Creek. In 2020, Gisele Bündchen and her husband, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, paid $17 million for the lot at 26 Indian Creek Island Road. A company tied to developer Jeffrey Soffer, who was previously married to supermodel Elle Macpherson, sold the property to them.
The Island, north of Miami Beach, has long attracted the ultra wealthy.
Homeowners include billionaire Carl Icahn – who is two doors down from Lima’s property – as well as billionaire hedge funder Eddie Lampert, Taubco CEO Irwin Tauber, Hotels.com co-founder Bob Diener, billionaire IndiGo airline co-founder Rakesh Gangwal, and Mary Anne Shula, the widow of the late Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner acquired a waterfront mansion on the island for $24 million in April of 2021. Last summer, longtime “Sábado Gigante” host Don Francisco sold his Indian Creek home to spec developer Todd Michael Glaser and his partners Scott Robins and Jonathan Fryd for $23.8 million.
The Island town is also home to the exclusive Indian Creek Country Club and Golf Course.
