Pompano Beach is located in Broward County, Florida, along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean to the north of Fort Lauderdale. It has a permanent population of 100,000 which climbs to 150,000 during the months of September through March.

Pompano Beach is also known as one of the best locations in the world for sport fishing. The city also offers the Pompano Harness Track, where visitors can watch horse racing. Residents and visitors can enjoy every major sport within forty-five minutes of the city including the Florida Marlins and Miami Dolphins. The city is also in close proximity to three international airports, which include the Ft. Lauderdale/ Hollywood International Airport, the Miami International Airport, and the Palm Beach International Airport. The Town of Hillsboro Beach is situated on a small peninsula north of Pompano Beach in Broward County. It extends 3.2 miles from the Hillsboro Inlet on the south to Deerfield Beach on the north and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west.
